Massage     Massage is a healing by hands – one of the oldest methods in medicine. It gives the feeling of relaxation, comfort, and can also relieve pain. Everyone knows from their childhood that if you want to help the bruised place you have to rub it. Thus, soft forms of massage are widely used nowadays to treat many diseases.

It was Hippocrates who said, “In order to be healthy you need to have a massage every day.”

Depending on the methods used, the massage can stimulate blood circulation and excretory system, contribute to cleansing of the body from toxins, relax stiff tissues and muscles. All these factors make it a very effective means to improve the work of respiratory system and digestion. Relieving tenseness and stress, massage also improves the work of immune system and leaves the patient experiencing a comfortable warmth and feeling well.

Massage influences numerous nerve endings of skin, muscles, and tendons. Their irritation is transferred to the central nervous system (cerebral cortex), which triggers corresponding reaction from different organs and systems of the body. Massage causes positive subjective feelings of the patients: it improves the way a person feels, reduces pain and stiffness, gives a feeling of comfortable warmth; in certain cases it may cause cheerfulness, in other – pleasant sleepiness.

It is necessary to use massage strictly individually, according to the clinical evidence and functional condition of the body.

Massage improves blood circulation. Very often tension in muscles and other tissues may worsen the circulation of blood. It reduces arrival of nutrients to the tissues as well as blocks clearing the body of chemical wastes and toxins, which may cause various diseases. Massage can help to improve blood circulation and ensure a more harmonious functioning of soft tissues, muscles, internals, nervous and immune systems.

Massage is particularly useful in cases of insufficient drainage of lymphatic fluid as a result of trauma or surgery. Improvement of lymph circulation activates clearing the body of toxins.

Massage helps to relieve tension and relax, which is useful both from physiological and psychological points of view. As a result, massage can be combined with any other trend in medicine, increasing their effectiveness.
